Justin began working for Community of Hope in May 2015. Previously he worked for Viva Health, Sirote and Permutt, P.C., Jefferson Clinic P.C., and the Black Warrior Council, Boy Scouts of America. He enjoys spending time with his family (especially his wife and daughter), giving back to the community, and officiating sports.
Maria Fernanda Vidal

Maria Fernanda began working at Community of Hope Clinic in January 2019 as the Evening Clinic Coordinator after serving as a volunteer interpreter. In September 2021, Maria Fernanda became the Operations Director; a new position created with the ever-growing needs of CHHC. Previously she worked as a Laboratory Scientist at UAB Hospital. She earned a bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Maryland - College Park and a masters degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences from UAB. Maria was born in Caracas, Venezuela and moved to the U.S. when she was 10 yrs old. She lives in Helena with her husband and 2 kids.

Liz began working at the Community of Hope Health Clinic in 2025. Previously, she volunteered with CHHC beginning in 2022 and was the 2023 Bill K. Dunham Medical Volunteer of the Year Award winner for her work in the Prenatal/Postpartum Clinic. Liz has a bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences from the UAB, and in her free time she loves to volunteer, bake, and read!

Krystal began working at the Community of Hope Health Clinic in 2022 after earning her bachelor's degree in Public Health from UAB. She was born in Puerto Rico and has been living in Alabama for the past 13 years. Her hobbies include reading and walking her dog.

Karen started working at Community of Hope Clinic in January 2016 after serving as a volunteer and board member for 3 years. Previously she worked as a Med Tech at Pathology Services, Southern Research Institute and UAB. Karen enjoys hiking, arts and crafts and traveling to Minnesota to visit family.
Dr. James Richard "Rick" Kilgore, PA, DMSc, PhD

Dr. Kilgore started volunteering at the Community of Hope Health Clinic in 2018 as a Monday morning provider. Since he has helped CHHC grow through his various relationships while also continuing to serve the patients of the clinic.
​
He worked at UAB for most of his career with his most recent position being the Program Manager over the PA Program in the School of Health Professions. Currently, he is involved with the Statewide Alabama Health Education Center, the Civil Air Patrol, and many other ventures in the Birmingham Metro Area.

Carmen is from Venezuela and she started volunteering at the clinic as an interpreter in (2022) before she was hired as the MMU Coordinator on (2023). In her free time, she loves going to Zumba with her friends.

Alma started volunteering as an interpreter at Community of Hope Clinic in 2019, and in 2022 she became the volunteer coordinator. She earned a bachelor's degree in Biology from the University of Montevallo.

Paul began as the Medical Mobile Unit driver in November 2022. A 38 year veteran of UPS, Paul enjoys spending time with his family, hunting, and University of Alabama Sports. During the holiday season, Paul is also Santa!
